Angus Place

Bit of an off road jaunt to Angus Place on the way back to Sydney from Cowra one weekend.

Angus Place is about 120km west-ish of Sydney and had a population of 353 people at the 2006 census, never saw one of them. Did have a few cars driving about though.

Angus Place's claim to fame is that it has one of the highest mines in NSW as the town is about 925m above sea level, no idea at all if this has any affect on the quality of coal or not.

That's all for Angus Place. The town was fairly small another of those towns that has a 'major' road through it. Couldn't really pick out a town centre of sorts.

This is my first A-Town on my own so I had no one to take my picture in front of a sign. Heaps windy so each time I put my camera on top of my car it would nearly blow off. Will have to invest in weighted tripod.

Wallarawang Power station is nearby and get 74% of it's coal supply from Angus Place Colliery.

What did I get from going to Angus Place? This was the first time in ages that I had as leisurely drive back home to Sydney. I usually hang around until the last possibly moment and then drive the four hours back with no break. This way much better.
